On Saturday, September 13, 2008 I took the Opportunity to Visit the S&S Shortline Railroad Train Park and Museum in west Farmington, Utah. The S&S Shortline Railroad is Named for and Owned by Steve and Susan Flandersm, and officially opened in 2002. Steve began building his 7.5" Gauge Railroad in 1995 and built about 3,000 Feet of Track around his house and in his backyard. Around the year 2000, Steve bought about 5 acres behind his house and an easement to build a Tunnel under the then abandoned Denver and Rio Grande Railroad Corridor that is owned by UTA. Steve, his Family, and Friends built 8,000 more feet of 7.5" Gauge Track, 5,000 feet of 24" Gauge Track, a Train Depot, 7.5" Gauge Engine House/Club House, 24

I remember going there a few times back when I was about 7. It's actually a pretty cool place.
I wish I was little again so I could ride the miniature trains (if I recall, they have a larger train ride and a smaller one for the little ones. The little one was cooler).

Anyone who Purchases a Ticket can Ride on the 7.5" Gauge and 24" Gauge Trains, there are no Height Restrictions.

That place is fun to go to, I have taken the kids there a couple of times in the past. One of the best times I have had there was during the Christmas season when they have a whole winter wonderland theme going on. I don't know if they still do that anymore.

Unfortunately, The S&S Shortline Train Park and Museum is Only Open the First Saturday of Each Month, March - September. Perhaps if they had more volunteers, they could open again for at least Christmas. :-\

That's too bad, I know that they use to sell Christmas trees also for extra funding.
