It's going to La Ronde as first rumored.

Theyre moving it to LaRonde, most likely to minimize the weight restrictions of the ride vehicles. It's possible that they could do track improvements to the ride before it gets installed there, but I wouldn't hope for much.

Remember, a little while before it was announced that it would be re tracked, it was announced that the ride would never reopen. It's unfortunate that West Coast Racers won't be the 20th coaster now.

SFMM didn't have anything in the announcement video this year. Maybe they're gonna get something small next year, but I wouldn't expect it.

Also, Apocalypse at SFMM is rumored to re-open for Fright Fest starting tomorrow, and West Coast Racers is rumored to open in mid November.

As long as West Coast Racers opens before January 1st, 2020, they won't be victims of another class action lawsuit like the one over X.

King's Island just announced that Vortex will be closing this fall due to "service life.' Do roller coasters actually become unserviceable at this age, or is just an excuse for the park to get rid of the ride? I really wanted to ride it, but I ran out of time when I went to KI in June! I'm sad that I'll never get to ride it!

It depends on the park in that Lagoon is a special case that has the resources and connections to keep thier coaster up indefinately. Vortex is 32 years old. Most coasters have a 30 to 40 year life span. Im sad I will never get to ride it either. Just makes my framed picture of the ride more special now.

It really comes down to how much money a park is willing to put into a coaster to keep it running. You don't want the track to age to a point where the coaster becomes unsafe to operate, so the park has to decide what they will do with it. Do they put their money into a new attraction or do they put their money into refurbishing an old attraction to keep it running. If they decide that trying to keep an old coaster running isn't worth it, then you get the announcement that it has reached end-of-life and is time to go away.
