"What was thought to be an easy theme to design a ride for actually turned out to not be as easy task as they had thought. It caused a great deal of stress at Lagoon Labs, which stress only increased with each ride idea failing to meet expectations of Lagoon management. This brought the scientists and engineers to be working completely exhausted with each passing day. After coming to several dead ends, it was decided that to increase their knowledge of the Primordial Era was to travel to the era and study it. This drastic decision was the path to the fore mentioned accident. Even though others had failed at it they knew they had the tenacity to accomplish such a lofty goal as inventing the technology to permit TIME TRAVEL!  While this sounds insanely crazy, Lagoon Management was beginning to breathe down the necks as they were getting increasingly impatient with no progress. This only further caused Lagoon Labs to ignore sound science being so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.

Immense research was conducted into others actual attempts at time travel along with using books and movies based in time travel to obtain a feel for where they should start. After 6 months and much trial and error, they achieved it or so they thought. The process requires an insane amount of power and in order to order to conduct that much power in one general location they built the largest Tesla Coil ever constructed. The electricity would be discharged all at one point funneling it through a circle shaped object intended to control the tear in time and space time travel required. The main problem they ran into is that every known element they used to construct the circle shape couldn’t withstand the amount of electricity and would promptly break down. So the invention of a new element was required. The recipe for this new element has yet to be revealed but it is known that they named it Flux, naming it based on one of their favorite time travel movies. Flux as far as had been determined can withstand anything. The immense electricity from the tesla coil heats it up the Flux to an extremely high temperature and when it reaches an exact unknown temp the electricity/ Flux combination causes a tear in the fabric of time and space. The theory was that this tear will allow them to travel through time. Keeping this tear or portal, as it became called, open requires the same massive amount of power it took to open it to be held at a constant output as if the Flux changes in temperature in the slightest the portal closes.

Lagoon’s ran extra power lines to this location in in the 2017 off season terminating into a little shack they built north of Hydro Luge from here the lines entered the Lagoon Labs facility. This gave them the power infrastructure enough to conduct their research. The first openings of the portal were done during the parks off season therefore no one noticed the massive power consumption but as their work progressed and the park opened for the operation season the power grid became overwhelmed and random, large-scale power outages started to seen at the park. These caused massive delays and heartache to Lagoon but the upper management had faith it would pay off in the end. As the experiments progressed, they got better at keeping the portals open longer and longer. However, in direct correlation more than power outages started to plague the park. But then more than power outages started to happen.  People started disappearing on the Hydro Luge, which was located right above Lagoon Labs underground facility. At first it just seemed like rafts had gotten stuck in the tubes, 1 to 5-minute delays, but soon the time grew to 15 minutes, then to 30 minutes and then a few a couple of hours, after which Lagoon promptly closed down the Hydro Luge with the given reason of “they were waiting for replacement parts from British Columbia.”"

Results for NL2 RoundUp 300 are released tomorrow! Hopefully my video made the top 10. Once the judging is complete then I can release the video here.
I can hardly wait Ian!!!!

Part 3:

"Lagoon Management was now fed up as they had lost an attraction and they felt they were nowhere near to having a new one. They demanded to see results for a new ride ASAP! Even though Lagoon Labs was not anywhere near that point. This made Lagoon Labs as the saying goes, running before walking. They had been focusing on keeping the portal open and stable and hadn’t even traveled into it yet to do their research, which is the whole purpose of this experiment. They didn’t know if people could travel into the portal safely but as park guests disappeared and reappeared on the Hydro Luge they assumed it was safe and that the disappearances had to be contributed to the portal but they did not know where the people traveled too or how they got back. They began sending probes into the portal and discovered that they had not achieved time travel or an alternate dimension but a sort of half-way place between our dimension and an alternate dimension. When inside the portal you could see our dimension as it is but gravity and other scientific constants acted in Hyper-ized or Mega-ized extremes. This led Lagoon Labs to start referring to this odd place as the Half-Dimension, a place half way between dimensions.

To be completely sure it was safe to go into probes were sent and evaluated that short periods of time in the Half-Dimension would be safe, but now that they knew it didn’t travel through time what use was this portal? Then something that would change Lagoon Labs forever happened. One of the probes malfunctioned while in the Half-Dimension giving off a small electrical arch which seems harmless enough but because of the hyper-ized ways of the Half-Dimension it caused a shock-wave like much larger than a super nova would give off which caused the portal to destabilize.  As it destabilized and went from stable to critical massive tremors shook the Lagoon Labs facility and the Hydro Luge above it. The park was closed as this time and luckily too because the parks midway was affected as Hydro Luge was sucked into the Half-Dimension and vanished as if it had never been there. As the portal got closer to going critical the tremors caused the Lagoon Labs Facility and accompanying Tesla Coil to be thrust upward exposing them from their underground location. The portal disconnected from the Tesla Coil and in theory should have shut down but it didn’t, it kept growing and became a self-sustaining entity known as a Singularity, or a phenomenon only known to happen at the center of collapsed stars, never on a planet. It also rose above ground and in the process a lake was created around it from the broken pipes that used to supply water to the Hydro Luge."

Part 4 and the release of the video will happen at some later point today. Stay Tuned!

Part 4 and Video release:

"Lagoon acting quickly to cover up this disaster put Lagoon Lab’s to work as the containment crew. The plan was, as the saying goes to make lemonade from lemons by making this now no longer secret Singularity the parks next new BIG attraction and make it look intentional. In collecting the facts of what caused the disaster, turning the Singularity into an attraction at the park would not be straight forward. The ride system could not be powered as they did not want a repeat of the powered probe incident causing the Singularity to react violently again. After much thought, they determined the best way to make an attraction that would be predictable and reliable would be a technology they knew well, a roller coaster.

In the process of designing a roller coaster to travel into the Singularity to the Half- Dimension, it was discovered that the optimal speed for which to enter it was when the train reached a speed of 88 MPH. In addition, the train would need to have a coating of Flux to protect the rides and the train itself from the intense magnetic field inside of the Half-Dimension. The Flux keeps a opposite magnetic field established around the train allowing it to travel safely. To ensure the proper magnetic field is kept around the train there have been re- magnetization tunnels that glow teal in color to keep the field at proper levels. Then to exit the Half Dimension quickly this field must be removed and quickly. To do this a de-magnetization tunnel colored red to remove the field and then to ensure total removal the train will enter a splash down which removed all magnetic fields the train still has.

Now it’s you turn to enter the Half-Dimension on:

SINGLUARITY 245

The tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster in the Intermountain West!  Rising up to a height of 245 feet in the air and then plummeting down a 265 foot drop at 80 degrees at 88 MPH. Your ride will feature 8 airtime moments much more than any roller coaster at Lagoon. You will never be the same again after your ride into the Hal-Dimension! Appearing in Spring 2023, only at Lagoon!"

More to come. I will be putting a full POV and video touring the new midway areas together soon. Until then here are some still pictures of my North Midway expansion anchored by Singularity. This design and area has been in the works for 2 years.

Here it is, the POV of Singularity 245! The lift hill is basically where Primordial is being installed. Enjoy.
